BILL BREAKDOWN OF THE DIGITAL ID BILLS

​Communications Minister Michelle Rowland has confirmed in a statement that: "The Government will not proceed with the Communications Legislation Amendment (Combatting Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill 2024. However - Labor has two other Digital ID bills designed to squash free speech and democracy that have been introduced at the same time - that achieve those goals in other ways.  ​

• Over 90% of Submissions REJECT SOCIAL MEDIA AGE BAN   "Over 91% of submissions rejected the proposed Social Media Age Ban, reflecting broad resistance from various stakeholders, including advocacy groups, academics, community representatives, and industry leaders.
